Olibere parfums: Chemical Love (2018.)

Wordless eloquence of perfumes empowers me to scream other ways whispering protests: in times like this, I douse myself in loud, extroverted perfume character to create a cloud of penetrating directness before stepping out in the world.
Or only in the other room, given the circumstances.

"Hit me!", says bitter orange, joined in the opening accord with cocaine aroma: quite bitter and piercing, but so am I.

Chemical Love Maison Olibere (Luca Maffei, 2018.) is my scent of the day.

Top notes: bitter orange, davana, elemi, cocaine accord.
Middle notes: ylang-ylang, orange blossom, Baileys cream.
Base notes: patchouly, sandalwood, labdanum, vanilla, musk

Chemical love is overwhelming and deep, creamy appealing and coldly distanced, truly somehow artificial in a most refined expressive way.  It reminded me of 1970ies hair buns - sculptured to be big, firm, high, artificial, dominant, sophisticated.
But, it also brought to mind the fragile side of the women who wore them: hours at a hairstylist.
Sleep protection for the ultimate hair-presentation of self-discipline and endurance:
The world can fall apart, but the bun will stay on.

That's Chemical love to me these days.

Further down the development of a perfume extract, creamy ylang-ylang mixed with lactonic-gourmand whiffs of Baileys thickens the opulence: Chemical love seduces in a way of 1970ies, too.
A suggestion of sinfulness, in all the things I try to do right - that's what I need these days, too.

The inspiration for the perfume was Scarface movie, directed by Brian de Palma in 1983. But that's how Sharon Stone must have smelled in another gangster movie also grasping in 1970ies era - Scorcese's Casino.
Sweet, creamy, opulent. A flower with a touch of cocaine and Baileys.
Chemical Love is a lifter and a hitter - even the creaminess has an edge, and the boldness is underlying fragility.

Chemical love made my quarantine glamorous: I walk from one room to another feeling strong, resolute and powerful. The perfume is the extension of me, and together we make the recommended distance even in a same household smaller.
Chemical love is my win-win.

In these challenging times came yet another twist:
No one should be really annoyed by loud perfumes - they both embrace those we can not get close to and warn us all to mantain our social distance.

This is a time for bold and loud perfumes.

Stay distanced - wear perfume. And be safe.
